To BUFFALO:Jeff Skinner (50% salary retention by NYI) Ole-Julian Bjorgvik-Holm (P) Blade Jenkins (P) NYI 3rd 2022 To NY ISLANDERS:Lukas Cormier (P) Serron Noel (P) SJS 1st 2021 Sabres agree. This is a mitigated gamble for us, as we get to add a player like Skinner (who is a pending UFA) into the fold without losing a pro or farm roster asset. Cormier and Noel are definitely upper-tier prospects, but Bjorgvik-Holm is the more defensive-oriented type we really needed in stock more in terms of the development front (we have a lot of puck rushers/O-type D's as it is). I think he's got tremendous potential and seems to be fitting in pretty well in limited AHL action already. And what's not to like about a player named Blade Jenkins? Great talks Jussi!

Islanders agrees. Losing Skinner will dent our playoff hopes, but Cormier and Noel has been in my radar for quite a while. Gamble, which might cost dearly this season, but help in near future. Holm and Jenkins are solid prospects to balance the books here. Life is made of hard choices. Thank you Thomas for good talks.
