To New York Islanders:
Marc-Andre Fleury Victor Rask (50% cap retained by Anaheim)
To Anaheim Ducks:
Martin Jones David Backes Christian Djoos 6th NYI 2023
Sometimes things go very quickly indeed. As soon as the Jones trade was announced, my conversation with Michael went from Djoos to Jones. Therefore, we agreed to make bigger trade than initially thought. Very eager to have Fleury in the team, still top goalie and will be excellent mentor to Samsonov and will provide leadership for the whole team. Jones will be no 1 goalie at Anaheim, just feel sorry as he has to swap teams again. Djoos is cheap and cheerful bottom D with great cap. He provided great service to us and will do the same at Anaheim, shame to lose him. Backes and Rask were added to the deal to balance the cap numbers and positional roster. 6th pick (NYI 2023) was added for the retention. Thanks Michael for pleasant talks.

Yes very quick trade indeed which the Ducks agree too. A new #1 goalie in Martin Jones, Christian Djoos a replacement for Toews who refused to negotiate a new deal and David Backes who will replace Nicolas Deslauriers who just wants too much.
