To VAN:
John Marino
2022BOSrnd4
To BOS:
Anthony DeAngelo
2022VANrnd1
2022VANrnd3
Vancouver agrees to this trade..... We have had our eyes on Marino through 3 GMs no, and finally we were able to make something work. With our recent acquisition of Aaron Ekblad, we feel that the offense that DeAngelo provided us was expendable and we desire to solidify the future of our blueline with Marino. We feel the pick swaps make it fair in the Deangelo is pending RFA, and also has an age and ability difference that we were willing to pay for. Big Cheers to Dan in Boston, this deal took almost a week, and had many different iterations.

Boston agrees, we feel Deangelo is very similar in value to Marino and brings an offensive upside to our back end. Adding another 1st round pick to the cupboard was important . Thanks for the talks !
