To BUFFALO:
Nolan Patrick NYR 4th 2020
TO NY RANGERS:
Tobias Bjornfot Philip Broberg (prospect) LAK 1st 2020 DET 1st 2020 BUF 1st 2021
Sabres...accept.
This was a big reason why I amassed the picks I did - to have the flexibility to make a move to bring in a possible franchise center for my #2 overall pick to tandem with for a very long time.
It's a hefty price. Sean was a tough negotiator. Broberg is going to be a stud in a few years and while Bjornfot and three 1sts is a lot, I feel it's worth it to solidify the core at forward for what could be a long, long time. He's going to have a plethora of high-end young talent on that team for sure.
EDIT: Plus, having Merkley and Rathbone in the wings, along with plenty of 2nd and 3rd round picks and a farm with some solid D's already, it eased the burden somewhat here. Though it still stings, no doubt.
But I think things are working out pretty well for the long term in Buffalo too.
Great talks Sean!

Sets the rangers up for the future while only giving up our 3rd line center.

^^ That's not how it works sir. Please read the rulebook section "Trading":
D. All trades must be submitted and agreed to by both teams in the BEARD Hockey Forums. These deals will be reviewed by BEARD Hockey commissioners. All deals will be passed unless they are blatantly detrimental to your team. Remember, it is your job as a GM to ensure the success of your franchise. We are not going to police or refuse “bad deals”. However, per this rulebook, if you are determined to be intentionally (or unintentionally) undermining your team, you will be subject to removal from the league.
BEARD Hockey commissioners are the sole determining body for all trades, except those made by their own teams. If you feel a trade made by one of the commissioners is blatantly unfair, please email us privately to discuss it.
