Three trades to make our arrangement complete: To BUF: Paul Byron To STL: Alexander Radulov, TOR 3rd 2022, BUF 2nd 2023, $375,000 To BUF: Robby Fabbri, STL 5th 2022, NJD 2nd 2023 To NJD: CHI 7th 2022 To NJD: Alexander Radulov (STL retains 50% of Radulov's 21-22 salary) To STL: $125,000 --- How it all shakes out: BUF gets: Paul Byron, Robby Fabbri, STL 5th 2022, NJD 2nd 2023 NJD gets: Alexander Radulov (50% retained by STL), CHI 7th 2022 STL gets: TOR 3rd 2022, BUF 2nd 2023, $500,000 --- Sabres agree. This was basically about moving Radulov to NJ for Fabbri, a 2nd, and a slight pick improvement, adding Byron for a 2nd, and STL being a fine broth of a lad for retaining on Radulov to fit him into NJ's roster (and getting an extra pick for it). Byron feels like an adequate replacement for Radulov at roughly half the cost, and hoping to be able to retain him during in-season talks. Solid two-way guy who'll be needed in a lot of situations. Fabbri should help to jumpstart the bottom six, which has underwhelmed most of the season to date. Great talks gents - pleasure bringing this all together.

Incredibly funny as I was also interested in Byron.
NJ agrees. Radulov will help shake up the forwards a bit and provide a top-6 player that we were missing. The recent slide in the standings has meant that we don't have the luxury of trying to get by with a combination of Fabbri, Labanc, Aberg, being cycled through as they are hot. Fabbri is tough to give up as he was a dispersal pick, but hasn't developed as fast as we hoped. Getting Radulov at a 50% discount was key to this deal happening and we didn't need to part with a first pick. Basically a trade deadline pickup type deal but in December.
Thanks to both Todd and Tom for the easy talks. More changes coming in Jersey, stay tuned!

Stl was looking to get a 2nd for Byron and his expiring contract. We have lots of cap space so retaining on Radulov not a big deal. Overall getting a 2nd, 3rd and 1/2 Million for Byron seemed just about right for us. We ll miss him but now another youngster gets a shot at the big club!
