A few days ago, we resolved a financial question that a few teams had regarding retained salaries. As we stated then, we've created a helpful spreadsheet so all teams can track the effect salary retention has on your clubs. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xNT7f35O9qQdQAXqAdsTjZIYES6qO_GKZCuYbvpG_to/edit?usp=sharingBelow is more context on the subject: The Special Cap Value simulates the ability to "lessen" a player's cap hit. It's not a direct circumvention of the floor or the cap, so long as the teams retaining salaries pay up. So, for this first season, we've created a spreadsheet that shows precisely who has paid what to the players who have salaries retained. Further, all teams who are retaining salary will have that money deducted from their account at the end of this season. After we pay out endorsements, we will divvy out the retention money based on the percentage of sim days the player was being paid by whichever team (since some have been dealt more than once). Starting next season, all retained salary will be immediately deducted from your cash total and sent to the team getting that benefit. This way, if that player is traded again, the amount of cash sent for retention purposes is easily calculatable based on the remaining contract left to be paid. Note: Those with retained contracts into next year will have the cash deducted and sent to the team with the said player on Day 1 of the regular season. The Special Cap Value will remain precisely as it has been - teams can retain up to 3 salaries per season. Hopefully, this clears this up.
