We're just a little over 24 hours away from the start of the first-ever BEARD Hockey regular season! I know I am excited to get real games going - and hope you all are as well.
RULEBOOK: We've added two paragraphs to the Trading section relating to salary retention. Be sure to check this out (and the ensuing discussion in the #league-questions channel on Slack)
SIM SCHEDULE: We have created a sim schedule calendar with listed times for lines files submissions, swimming time, as well as rest days/off days. This is subject to change of course, but I built it out for a few months so everyone can get an idea of what's ahead.

WEBSITE UPDATE: The BEARD Hockey website was fully updated in the wee hours this morning. Be sure to look through the site for the changes - and if you want to reminisce on the preseason, you can access those pages via links on each team's page (click the logos at the top of the website!).
I will be making one final update later tonight ahead of tomorrow's regular season start.
TICKET PRICES: We cannot stress how important it is to stay on top of your finances. As you can see on your Team Finance pages, everything is listed - the only thing missing is income. Teams generate income during home games only, which is why ticket prices are so key.
We recommend making adjustments in the early stages of the season to see what gives you the best outcomes in terms of revenue and attendance for home games. At the default prices, most teams can expect to earn around $1.3 to $1.5 million in ticket sales per home game. This is why we offer Endorsements to help augment your income, as ticket prices alone may not be enough to guarantee a profit on the season.
Your available cash totals will fluctuate every game. You'll lose money on away games and earn money for home games. How you set your ticket prices directly affects how much you make and or lose on a season - so please, be sure to keep a close eye on this.
You can find more information on what all goes into your finances in our Rulebook (and in various Slack conversations). There are resources to help you - it's up to you to take advantage of them!
LINES FILE SUBMISSION: And finally, I just want to stress again that one of the pillars of BEARD Hockey is the dedication of its GM's. You've all done a GREAT job to this point, so let's not take our foot off the gas here.
Our rulebook states teams should be - at a minimum - sending new lines files once per ten days. This is the MINIMUM: there's little reason why teams shouldn't be sending new files every 1-3 games or so. Between running two clubs (pro and farm), the number of options like ice time, strategies, different scenarios, and etc., the expectation is to be on top of your clubs and their performance.
That doesn't mean to have to send a new file every day. When you get hot of course, there's not much need to make a change. But even tweaks are generally needed pretty regularly (ticket prices, ice time, strategy, etc.) - so let's not coast now that games are finally being played.
And remember, teams MUST send new lines files after a trade is made, a new player is signed, or if an injury occurs to knock a player out of the lineup.
Alrighty folks - looking forward to tomorrow and the season ahead. Thank you all very much!
