Colorado receives CAR 4th 2024 - if Brayden Schenn "goes to UFA", the pick becomes CAR 2nd 2023.

If the roll for Brayden Schenn has him refuse to enter talks and choose free agency then the 4th Rd pick becomes a 2nd

All above is correct.. As the Commish asked for clarification on the picks...
CAR receives the 2022 COL 3rd and keeps it no matter what.
---------------
If Schenn re-signs with the Avs prior to becoming a UFA, the Avs receive the 2024 CAR 4th.
If Schenn refuses to re-sign with the Avs during the negotiation process as described in the rules, the 2024 CAR 4th is returned to Carolina and the Avs receive the 2023 CAR 2nd.
If the Avs do not attempt to re-sign Schenn and he becomes a UFA, the 2024 CAR 4th is returned to Carolina and the Avs receive the 2023 CAR 2nd.

Okay, so there was still a little ambiguity here when it came to pass that Schenn was later traded again - which in most cases, would mean any previous consideration or picks held in consideration would be void. However, the language here is still not explicit in terms of Schenn being dealt again, particularly here: "If the Avs do not attempt to re-sign Schenn and he becomes a UFA, the 2024 CAR 4th is returned to Carolina and the Avs receive the 2023 CAR 2nd."Technically, Colorado didn't attempt to re-sign Schenn before dealing him to Buffalo, AND he can still become a UFA. However, after league review, we've concluded that the spirit of this consideration was almost certainly tied to the Avs influencing Schenn's ultimate free agent status. What should have been added to this was a stipulation regarding Schenn being dealt again and what effect that would have on this whole thing. So, for fairness' sake, we are voiding the considerations in this deal - Colorado will receive the CAR 4th 2024 pick and the CAR 2nd 2023 pick will remain in Carolina's possession. NOTE: Please make sure your future considerations are explicit! It is the responsibility of the GMs, not the league, to have clearly defined considerations so that there is no room for confusion later down the road. Thanks all!
