In case you lose your email - here's another way to access the primer.
Below is all you need to know about the 2021 BEARD Hockey Entry Draft, which begins Saturday, September 11th at 9pm ET on Slack.
The "live" portion of the draft will be 4 rounds, which we expect with smooth operation to run about 4 hours. All teams - whether you're in attendance or not - are highly encouraged to send lists in order of preference for the players you want to draft. You can include basic instructions on these lists, such as "if X position is available, pick that" - along those lines. If you are not attending, your list should be as long as your last pick in the 4 live rounds.
If you do not attend live and do not submit a list, it will be a bad day for you (auto-picks, fines, etc.). So please, make sure you submit a list...especially if you aren't going to be there. Please also note that a copy and pasted list of the 2021 NHL draft will not be accepted!
Also, here is a link to download the 2021 EliteProspects and 2021 FutureConsiderations draft guides for those who didn't get these yet - they should come in handy assisting your process!

HOW THIS WILL WORK
The 2021 Entry Draft will be 100% done through Slack. We will be trying out Slack's "Huddle" feature, which is an audio option within the entry-draft-channel. I will be inviting people on Slack to this Huddle about 30-45 minutes before Saturday's start time. For those who wish to announce their picks, they will have the ability to do so via Huddle.
Otherwise, all picks will be posted in the draft channel. There's more to this, so please read on!
THE 'LIVE' PROCESS (Huge thanks to our volunteer helpers!)
Rangers GM Sean McAndrews will be our Official Timekeeper. He will be posting in the Draft Channel when your pick is up. For those in attendance, you will have 2:30 to make a selection.
Each team gets one 5-minute ‘pause’ if they need more time. To ask for your pause, you must message Sean McAndrews before your 2:30 period is up. Sean will be posting the countdown in intervals in the Draft Channel.
TO MAKE YOUR PICK: Send a PM to Seattle GM David Springgay, our Manager of Picks. He will verify your pick is valid, and PM me. I will confirm on the Audio channel that “the pick is in”, and if you’re in the audio Huddle, you’ll be able to announce your pick. After your announcement, or in lieu of one, David will post your pick.
AFTER A PICK IS MADE: I will update my document and the Draft Results page on the BEARD website. Keep refreshing to see up-to-date selections.
TRADES: Any trade that involves a 2021 draft pick is eligible for 'rapid-fire approval'. Both teams must PM Pittsburgh GM Matt Swackhammer, our Dean of Deals, the trade in question. He will then pass it on to me, and unless it’s obviously detrimental, I will approve it. I will enter the deal into the sim, output the pages so that the roster index is updated, and update the draft order on the Draft page. The Trade Tracker page will be updated after Round 4 is complete.
TRADE TEMPLATE! Both GM's must FOLLOW THIS TEMPLATE: If you send Matt anything other than a deal in this template, your deal will not be processed. It’s going to be crazy busy for us, so please help with this!

If a trade is made that does NOT involve a 2021 draft pick, post it in the BEARD Hockey Forum like you normally would.
WHAT COMES AFTER ROUND 4?
After the four live rounds are complete, the Entry Draft will resume at 10am ET on Sunday, September 12th. Teams will make their own picks in the draft channel, using the template that will be provided. Each club will have two hours to make their pick. At midnight ET, the clock will stop - teams aren't required to make picks overnight, but can if they wish to.
Monday, the clock will resume again at 10am ET. Unless something odd takes place, we should be able to wrap the draft up by Monday.
You can submit a new list or lists for use on Sunday and Monday if you won't be around to make your pick on your own.
IF THERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS: Please ask away now on the league-questions channel on Slack.
